Australian travellers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can travel to the USA without having to quarantine. To prepare for international travel and everything that goes with it, we’ve put together some handy guides to read before heading to the airport.

Your travel checklist
Here’s a travel checklist to help you on your way to the USA. Don’t forget to:
- Apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) or ensure your ESTA status is valid
- The USA government does not require COVID-19 tests prior to travel or on arrival. Check if your airline requires a COVID-19 test result.
- Complete the Travel Attestation Form, if required by the State you are travelling to
- Obtain your proof of vaccination using the International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC). Download the certificate to your phone and carry a printed version also
- Ensure you have adequate travel insurance.
Returning to Australia
- Australia does not require COVID-19 tests prior to travel or on arrival for fully vaccinated passengers. Check if your airline requires a COVID-19 test.
- Complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) online within 72 hours of your departing flight.
- Ensure you have your mask with you and your Australian International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) is accessible for your flight home.
