Your travel checklist

Here’s a travel checklist to help you on your way to the USA. Don’t forget to:

  • Apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) or ensure your ESTA status is valid
  • The USA government does not require COVID-19 tests prior to travel or on arrival. Check if your airline requires a COVID-19 test result.
  • Complete the Travel Attestation Form, if required by the State you are travelling to
  • Obtain your proof of vaccination using the International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC). Download the certificate to your phone and carry a printed version also
  • Ensure you have adequate travel insurance.

Returning to Australia

  • Australia does not require COVID-19 tests prior to travel or on arrival for fully vaccinated passengers. Check if your airline requires a COVID-19 test.
  • Complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) online within 72 hours of your departing flight.
  • Ensure you have your mask with you and your Australian International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) is accessible for your flight home.
