As I take my final curtain call at Stage and Screen, before heading to London, I find myself reflecting on 12 amazing years with the brand. When I started in the travel industry in 1996, I could never have imagined that my career path would lead to a General Manager position, which has never felt like just a ‘job’.

Back then Stage and Screen was a small business with big ambitions and just 40 staff. Today, 80 passionate and loyal staff have made Stage and Screen the number one entertainment and sporting TMC in Australia. It has been a massive achievement, with everyone rising to the challenge to build a business that achieves double-digit growth year on year.

But far more important than figures on a spreadsheet, are the people we work for and the people I work side by side with each day. They are more than just colleagues and customers, they are part of the Stage and Screen family and the broader Flight Centre Travel Group family. This is a family that empowers, inspires, rewards and supports each other every day of the year. It’s this ‘people’ focus that has seen Stage and Screen sustain 97% client retention and 95% staff retention.

My time at the helm of Stage and Screen has delivered many personal and professional highlights, but winning flagship clients and dominating all our sectors is something I am very proud of. All while never losing sight of our culture and passion. However, 2016 was something of a standout year for the brand and myself – we won NTIA Best Travel Agency Corporate (and again in 2018), we won The Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice 2016 and I received the Flight Centre Directors Award 2016.

I leave knowing that the business is in the very capable hands of Gregory Lording, who employed me and has inspired me over the years. He is a former Stage and Screen General Manager who understands the brand intrinsically and I know his senior leadership experience will serve the brand well.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge all of our customers for their personal and professional support - and for believing in the brand and me. It is your openness and honesty that has continuously inspired me to evolve the brand, innovate and ensure we remained relevant. And to my amazing and loyal team - thank you for sharing this journey with me.
