Andy Murray: Cromlix Hotel
British Tennis star Andy Murray’s Cromlix Hotel was recently named Scotland’s most luxurious hotel for the second year running. With 34 acres of woodlands and gardens, the hotel is a great choice for nature lovers and those who have more traditional tastes. There are just 10 bedrooms, five suites, each named after a famous Scot, and a one-bedroom gate lodge on the property. Each of the rooms features antique furniture and some of the suites also have free-standing baths that are hand-painted in gold, silver or copper. The restaurant Chez Roux, run by award-winning chef Darin Campbell and overseen by its famous chef-consultant Albert Roux, is classic French.
Hugh Jackman: Gwinganna LIFESTYLE Retreat
Where does Wolverine go to relax, and rejuvenate without being bothered? His own hotel of course. The X-Men star is the co-owner of the Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat, an elusive health farm and retreat that can be found deep in the jungle of the Tallebudgera Valley in the Gold Coast hinterland. The retreat dislikes the use of technology or rigid schedules. In fact guests are not permitted to use their digital companions except in their rooms and they aren’t even allowed access to a schedule as updates are given verbally at each meal time. The hotel prides itself on true escapism from the day to day chaos of life and is a celebrity favourite since in Gwinganna’s 10-year history a visitor has never so much as texted, tweeted or tipped off anyone about their presence.
Clint Eastwood: Mission Ranch Hotel
History and charm await you at Mission Ranch Hotel. This beautiful hotel, which was once a 19th century diary house, is located in Carmel-By-The-Sea and sits on 22 acres of land. Clint Eastwood was very keen to develop and restore the property with much of its original architecture. The Inn now consists of 31 hotel rooms located within ten buildings on the property. The hotel is perfect for those who want both an active outdoors escape and relaxing getaway and is popular for families as well as romantic getaways.
Francis Ford Coppola: Palazzo Margherita
Iconic film maker Francis Ford Coppola went back to his roots when buying his five-star European property in Bernalda where his grandfather was born. The hotel offers a typically Italian boutique experience and was originally built in 1892 and continues to stay true to the 19th century palazzo architectural style. Francis wanted the Palazzo to become a place that his children would want to visit again and again, and therefore invited the whole family to contribute ideas to the design. It is this very sense of family that distinguishes Palazzo Margherita as one of the most charming small luxury hotels in Italy.
Richard Gere- Bedford Post Inn
This small luxury inn can be found in the heart of Westchester County in Bedford, New York. A Relais Chateaux property, the inn prides itself on beautiful surroundings and exquisite cuisine. Richard Gere co-owns the hotel with Westchester residents Carey Lowell and Russell Hernandez. Although small the inn offers two acclaimed restaurants, a yoga loft and group activities. It’s a popular stop for New Yorkers to escape the city for a weekend getaway and for private events.
