NDC Launch with Qantas and Singapore Airlines

In late 2024, Qantas announced a shift towards a New Distribution Capability model (NDC), which would take effect in two weeks (1st July). Under the new model, Qantas is proposing enhanced offers and lower fares, whilst applying higher surcharges to traditional bookings.

What Stage and Screen is doing regarding NDC

To ensure that you have access to Qantas’ NDC benefits, and avoid the impact of airline surcharges, we are rolling out NDC across Stage and Screen, for both Qantas and Singapore airlines bookings. 

  • You will be able to book offline for Qantas and Singapore airlines NDC content starting July 1.
  • You will also be able to make online bookings for Qantas; however this will be delivered in stages between June 24 and July 1. You will be notified of your online booking activation date in the coming weeks. 

Is there a Stage and Screen fee for NDC bookings?

An additional AUD $10 NDC booking fee will be introduced to cover substantial technology investments and the overheads of managing NDC bookings that are associated with the way the airlines have chosen to deploy NDC content.  This Fee applies to each new booking made with NDC fares and charged in addition to our standard booking fees.

How to prepare for NDC 

  • Familiarise yourself with the resources linked in this email to learn about our general approach to NDC, as well as our FAQs on the launch of Qantas and Singapore Airlines NDC content.
  • Use your existing Credits on Hold, using the recommendations outlined in FAQs.
  • Be alert for announcements regarding your online activation date. You can expect to receive these via email and through the online booking tool.
  • Share this news to your travellers and other internal stakeholders who may be impacted.
  • If you would prefer to delay online NDC activation, please contact your Account Manager to discuss opting out.
