Flight Centre Corporate – comprising FCM, Corporate Traveller, Stage & Screen and Flight Centre Business Travel – can today reveal that more than 1,300 businesses have returned to the skies since domestic and international borders reopened in Australia.
Celebrating FCTG's 40th Birthday
This year marks a special occasion for our parent company, Flight Centre Travel Group, not only in Australia but in suburban strips, shopping malls and office blocks globally, where our company operates. In 1982, 40 years ago, the first Flight Centre store opened the doors to customers in Sydney.
FCTG’s 40th birthday milestone is an acknowledgement of our Australian roots. And the birth of the iconic red and white leisure travel brand that became the catalyst for the company’s global success and brand diversification.
After being in business for four decades, FCTG consists of more than 30 corporate, retail and leisure travel brands and employs thousands of people globally.
Our chapter in the FCTG journey began in 1995 when Stage and Screen burst onto the scene to look after the unique travel needs of the music industry.
FCTG fully acquired the Stage and Screen business in 1999. By then we had offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. New offices in Auckland, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Vancouver quickly followed in the years from 2000 to 2012. Stage also opened an office in Cape Town in 2016.
But rather than us tell you about our journey so far, watch this fun, three-minute video ‘40 Years of Taking Off’, which captures all the milestones.
